Travel pillow

The Pillow is an independent contract project Haoting did for NingBo ZhuoYiJiaFang (a Chinese company) in June, 2020. Haoting designed and re-developed their travel pillow products to meet the needs of the company.

Concept one

Concept one: Hollow
Adding a hollow design to the conventional travel pillow design and a piece of elastic plastic to the hollow part as a support can achieve the effect of ventilation while ensuring sufficient support. Providing a higher level of comfortability and the overall aesthetics was the key to this design.

Concept two

Concept two: Jewel

This concept was inspired by jewelery brand Pandora. Clients can personalize their travel pillow by picking their favorite colors and materials to create their unique pillow. This could bring a new purchasing experience to clients under the premise of guaranteed comfort.

Concept three

Concept three: Affordable

The company needed an option that is similar to the conventional design of travel pillow at a low production cost. This concept caters to a larger consumer base and has the lowest production cost compare to the other concepts. The design focused on affordability while maintaining comfortability.

Final version

The final solution was the conventional design with a hidden perforation design to improve comfortability while ensuring the affordable production costs. The travel pillow would be made with memory foam.
